Hey all! Today I am going to be sharing the press conference featuring Lauv! I have seen Lauv live before and he was amazing! Since then I have appreciate his work so much more. Lauv is a multi-platinum singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He popped off and debuted in the electric pop world after his his single, “I Like Me Better“. We all know and love that song and bop our heads to it, ever since it came out! He has been making bops ever since.
On August 5th, 2022, Lauv aka Ari, recently released his album All 4 Nothing as well as tour dates with Hayley Kiyoko. Which I am also personally a fan because Lemonade Mouth is one of my all time favorite movies tbh.
Let’s get into it! His newest album includes nostalgia, conflict, and ultimately, self-empowerment. It is exciting learning from the perspective of the artist who created these ideas himself.

Joanna from Jaded Productions asked, “All of your songs and recent releases have the classic ‘Lauv” sound, they are new and fresh. What has the process been like of trying to stay true to the sound that many people know you for while still allowing yourself to grow and try out different things within your music?” Lauv responded by saying “With this album, one of the things that allowed me to grow and make it different is that I used to be very much like a control freak and needed to be at the computer, producing everything for the most part as I am working on the song. And I actually kind of took a little bit more of a zoomed out approach. Where I was just focused mostly on just the songwriting and the singing and writing the songs on the microphone. So the productions, i had a few different things in mind. I really trust these producers that brought in some new sounds and new vibes for me. Especially on some of the songs like “Bad Trip” and “I Don’t Have a Problem”. Those two are super different for me. Like there is nothing, there is no Lauv song that ever sounds like that, so I’m just really excited.” We are too Ari!
Joanna also asked, “Who is Joshua in the bridge of “Kids Are Born Stars”?” Lauv joked and responded by saying “That’s my son” but then of course said “I’m kidding I’m kidding haha”. He mentioned he “posted a TikTok saying that and people actually believed that”. He was like uhmm. But then he explained that Joshua is his manager’s son who during lockdown, would always come in on their FaceTime calls and say “Ari don’t worry! It’s all gonna work out!” So cute awh. “He was really just like sweet and encouraging and just so like :)” With this album he really wanted to get in touch with his inner child and be stress free and fun and loving etc. So it was so nice for him to have Joshua on there too.
Sarah from Envy Media asked Lauv, “In recent interviews, you mentioned you’ve developed a more fluid and free creating process. Has this shift impacted you and your music?” Ari responded and said, “To make music making really fun in a different way because now it’s just like, I will with my friends, just put on instrumentals and just like freestyle in the car and sometimes ideas will just come out of nowhere. And it makes me trust myself a lot more because before I would always be scared to just be in the moment because I would be like ‘What if I say something stupid? What if I do something that’s not cool or whatever?’ And then I realize ‘Oh, I’m gonna have so many bad ideas and so many good ideas too’ and then just gotta get through it all. I definitely needed to find more fun in it. Because I was starting to get to the point where it all felt like I was treating it so seriously and I was like ‘Okay, let’s have some fun’, you know?” Yes Ari! Live in the moment 🙂 Just like I have tattooed on me. It’s true! We love having fun when writing music as he should.
All in all this was a wonderful press conference to be a part of. Lauv is such a genuine person with a great sense of humor and an emotional human side to him. We hear it and appreciate it within his music and his new album certainly has some bangers and some tear jerkers as well. The conference included two unreleased songs at the time which everyone seemed to love and adore. If you are able to check him out on tour with Hayley Kiyoko you should, he is very fun and energetic live and connects with the audience a lot, so I highly recommend!
Thank you so much for reading along, definitely listen to All 4 Nothing if you can, Lauv is amazing and makes great music, I will link his socials down below. Until next time fam, peace!
