About “LUV U A LIL BIT” By Dacey (NEWEST SINGLE)

Hi all! Hope you all are well. I am here today to write about Dacey’s newest single, “LUV U A LIL BIT“. This band from Vancouver have so many sounds incorporated into their music, it really is unique. From alternative R&B, lo-fi, hip-hop, neo-soul, indie and even to jazz, there is always something new. Dacey consists of lead singer Dacey Andrada, Guitarist & Keys Justin Tecson, Nathan Chan (Guitarist) and Joshua Akow (Bassist). This band formed while they were attending Vancouver’s Nimbus School of Recording and Media.

Now to get to the song! Right off the bat, the sound of the guitar gives me an alternative R&B vibes but also sort of some jazz in there too. I enjoy the sounds of this song in a really cool way. The setup of the song is spectacular, especially as the vocals begin. The song as I understand it is about ending a toxic relationship. The whole song is vibey and fun to listen to with the guitar beats and riffs, vocals, etc.

The lyrics give me the impression that the singer really needs to leave this relationship but something about the relationship is hard to let go of. “So if it all goes down today, I promise I won’t stray away, I came back this time to stay”. She knows that this relationship is toxic, but still wants to come back.

I like the simplicity of this song but also the meaning behind it. Dacey wrote this when she was in a toxic relationship that she knew she needed to get out of, but couldn’t. It is so easy to get caught up in the comfort of a relationship, good or bad.

In the song, she talks about missing all these things about him. She talks about not wanting to be by herself. Dacey also sings the title of the song “LUV U A LIL BIT” because there is always some love that is going to be there for her.

All in all this is a good song to listen to whether you can relate to it or not. There is a great vibe to it that will make you want to bop your head for sure. But there is also meaning behind this song that I hope you enjoyed too. This was my interpretation of some of the lyrics as well. I recommend a listen to Dacey’s newest single “LUV U A LIL BIT“.
