Hi all! Today I am back with another song review. I am excited about this one because I have previously listened to PUBLIC The Band and they recently released a new single called “Missing You Today“!
The song immediately starts off with a catchy guitar beat. Not only did the beat catch my attention but even the first few lines of the song. Already in the first verse, a lot of the words rhyme which is why I think the song really grabs my attention and sticks with me.
I definitely caught myself bopping my head or tapping my foot. It’s one of those songs where you feel like singing along even though you don’t know that lyrics just yet!
The song is pretty much self explanatory from the title, but I will dive in to give examples of what the song is about. This new single is about the singer missing his partner who is far away. The opening line in the first verse reads, “It’s cold up north You’re a thousand miles away and I think of you a lot” Based on this, immediately you can tell that the singer is going through a long distance relationship at the moment.
The rest of the first verse also says, “I know I’m yours Doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt And my stomach is in a knot” Based on these lyrics, it is apparent that he misses his partner. Basically it’s a tough time without seeing their face and being present with them together.
Another line that I liked because it was catchy is the line in the Chorus where it goes “I’m missing you today” because the way he sings it and the melody. It really stood out to me because that is a line where the crowd is definitely going to scream the lyrics and easily remember them. He sings that line in various ways which is why I think it is really catchy and enjoyable.
The song gave me a little bit of John Mayer vibes too especially with the guitar riffs and melodies. I liked the beat that it had and will definitely be adding it to my playlist!
