hiiiii i’m writing this blog love from Prudential Center on August 11, 2019 and i. am. STOKED. let me just give you the rundown on this weekend. ☺️
So yesterday August 10, was night one of Shawn Mendes The Tour. It was phENOMINAL. I had the Silver package which meant i was able to attend the q&a. he didn’t pick me to answer a question but he definitely made eye contact with me 🙂 Someone asked him a question about the YouTuber David Dobrik and the vlog squad and i thought that was sooo cool that they were friends and Shawn loved him because i do too! after the q&a we walked quickly to the merch booth where i copped a tour t-shirt of course along with a hoodie. very excited (not so much my bank account tho). after that my friend and I met up with my sister and other friend from school who ALSO loves Shawn!! it was honestly soo fun. the whole concert was phenomenal and i really couldn’t wait for night two (rn) hehe. My favorites were If I Can’t Have You because the vibes were LIT and the audience was pumped. I also loved the production for In My Blood.
So moving on to DAY 2 ahh! This was an exciting day for sure. I can’t express how happy this night made me. (i’m also writing this after now) But we basically ran through the same process for the day…. but this time around a little different 😉 So I arrived at around 2:30 because there was a check-in was 3-3:30. I had to get there an hour earlier than the previous day because…… I WAS MEETING SHAWN AH!! i still can’t believe it.
Fast forwarding from waiting on line to getting started i was so excited. he was running a little late because we actually heard him sound checking before – hand. which he spoke so genuinely with his team when explaining how he wants the songs to be when sound-checking. Once he was done we finally got started! i was probably one of the first 20 out of 100 to meet him that night. Before i stepped into the curtain where he was standing, we got to go through the “ShawnAccess Experience” which was basically a little museum of his past awesome performances including such things as his outfits he’s worn and passes. There was JingleBall pass and outfit displayed… which we all know i was at! ahh so cool 🙂
Stepping into that museum you could clearly hear him talking to the other people in front of me and thats when i was like “Woah this is happening, he’s right there”. Then….. it was MY turn. I stepped in a right away without hesitation he looked me in the eyes, asked how i was, and the picture was snapped! After the photo was taken i told him how much it meant to me about how genuine and real he was and for how much he means to me. i told him I have been a supporter since 2014 and acknowledged that i was definitely NOT going anywhere. I thanked him so much and he thanked me so much back. While expressing this, he was holding me hands and smiling. Afterwards, he pulled me in for another hug, thanked me once more and told me to enjoy the show and it means a lot. I stepped out of the curtain and i was in shock. Of course i kept it calm cool and collected because he is after all A PERSON just like the rest of us. But the fact that i’ve been supporting him since him and I were both 14/15 years old and finally hugging him again felt so nice and genuine. i’m a happy girl hehe.
After the meet & greet I headed down to the Q&A once again. Except this time…. FRONT ROW. I was so close if i were to reach out all the way i could touch him.. oh yeah btw his skin is so nice.. but yeah i was so excited because being in the front row i felt everything and him making eye contact with me so many times. He looked right into my eyes many times that night and that’s would made me feel special and even more happier than i was. 🙂 this Q&A was spectacular because the 300 people in that room waiting for him started singing his songs and his security popped out and was like ok YEA get louder guys! So we did. We sang In My Blood, Something Big (always a jam), and then If I Can’t Have You, and during this song , Shawn came JAMMING DANCING out of the back curtains! And it was mentioned by them that that’s never happened to him on tour yet which felt AMAZING. Because as mentioned, Shawn is also a vibes person and gets amped off of all of us. And, OH YEA, we got him amped up and made a great impression for him to be as pumped for the show as I was! 🙂
From this experience, i got a tour passport, Signed poster!, and his Flow water! i was a happy girl
After the session, i went to sit somewhere to charge my phone before my friend met up with me when the doors opened. In the midst of waiting i spoke to his security along with a girl who worked these like VIP events at Prudential. I was just asking them what they did and their best advice for me who wants to be in the business. They gave me very useful and helpful information that will definitely help me, which i very much appreciated! because my goal is to work with artists and be like a manager or tour coordinator, i would really enjoy that 🙂 good stuff
Once doors opened I caught my friend and we got my passport stamped along with some more water and quickly headed to our seats waiting for Alessia Cara to come on, she is always so talented! I loved her singing Scars to Your Beautiful!
Once Shawn went on it was lights out and pure excitement! I was pumped, once again If I Can’t Have You and In My Blood BLEW ME AWAY. Because everyone was jumping he was jumping and getting the crowd amped up, it was an awesome experience and why i want to be in this kind of world as a career 🙂
Confetti everywhere and smiles from ear to ear, such a great time. I loved him and the performance so much along with his team who works so hard each night to make the experience and show great for him and everyone too!
Such a great weekend and I cannot wait to go to another performance soon as well ☺️ you all know me i love those vibes
