Olivia Rodrigo Sells Out MSG! (4/6/2024)

Hey everyone! Concert season is upon us (every season is concert season in my mind) and I’m happy to be back at it with another blog from the Olivia Rodrigo concert i just went to!! It was absolutely amazing and I’m so happy i was able to go (thanks to my local radio station that i listen to 94.3 the point 🙂 ) My sister and i went to her first SOUR tour at Radio City Music Hall which was ABSOLUTELY amazing and knew we wanted to go again. We tried getting tickets for this GUTS tour when they went on sale, we didn’t get selected for the verified fan pre-sale, but we are so thankful we were able to make it there last minute 🙂

(for pictures and videos my instagram is @andieseyr ) wasn’t able to upload them here 🙂

This was such a busy Saturday and in a good way. I made my way to north Jersey in the morning and then skirted to the city right after 5. We got there, got our merch, headed to our seats in the middle of the opening act’s performance. They were really good! They were called The Breeders. They played some bops for sure.

After The Breeders performed, we were anticipating Olivia coming on very soon and we were very excited. We were sitting in the 300s and honestly it was like a party up there. Everyone next to us had such great energy. Before she came on, while we were waiting “GUTS” on a screen popped up on the screen with a candle. (Which the screen and graphics were such good quality we couldn’t tell if it was real or not kinda tbh haha it was awesome) So when the candle burned out, that meant it was time for her to come on. So we were waiting for the candles to burn out patiently!

As soon as the candles were almost burned out, the crowd started to cheer so loud as we did. Then the candles burned out and boom. The lights went out! The music started playing. We started cheering, and Olivia and her band came out!

She started off with her song, “bad idea right?”. Which is a fun dancey song. Immediately she then went into “ballad of a homeschool girl” which is soo good it just makes me giggle haha i love it. The individual next to us matched our energy it was great. Screaming, dancing, cheering, so much fun 🙂

It is so hard to just choose a favorite few songs because they were all genuinely my favorites. Every song has screaming and dancing potential. LMAO. I have so many favorites and I’m just so excited. Thinking about how much fun it was. I’m so grateful that was there. It was such a great experience.

During “logical”, the homie next to us had a voice that projected so well so when Olivia came around on a floating moon, she came in front of our section and the individual next to us screamed to her and she waved at us! there were only a few of us in that row because there weren’t that many seats in our section so it was really cool and special to have that moment! So thankful for the person next to us. Their energy and our energy were unmatched it was so much fun being next to other big concert energy people 🙂 So thankful for that moment, like how cool!

When “teenage dream” came on, that was so cute. Old pictures of videos of her as a kid came on the screen and it was so wholesome. She then sang, “pretty isn’t pretty” which is a personal favorite of mine for real. Her band and dancers also did a great job.

“making the bed” is another favorite. It has such an awesome sound to it and makes me feel like i am in a movie tbh haha. She was laying down and singing which seems so hard to do but she can do it all! So talented that was a great song too.

She also sang “Can’t Catch Me Now”, the song she sang for The Hunger Games which was incredible. She ate that up! Wow what a nigh, i really could go on and on about how much fun i had and every single song she sang and interaction she had with the crowd but who knows if there is even enough room to write that all! 😂 haha it was so much fun and thank you so much for reading along. After the night ended the screen popped up with a person sweeping the confetti from the ground which is probably relatable. The confetti was incredible. I think that is my favorite part of a concert when I am on the floor. It feels so magical. I am even happy i got to experience it from anywhere too because just being there was a blessing! Shoutout to 94.3 The Point again, because my sister and I are big fans and were on cloud 9 being there 🙂 I hope to see her again soon. I am still smiling from my experience for real, great energy, great music, great memories, and great experiences.

Thank you so much for reading along.

Until next time!

Peace fam
