hi!!! i am so excited to be back with another concert blog post. It’s only been like a month or so ish but i’ve been itching to see one of my favorites. Reneé Rapp!! I’ve loved her for a while now and especially after being fortunate enough to meet her on set. She is so cool, down to Earth, and has talent like no other. I really dig her vibe.
It was me and two other friends I met from set also. It was a lot of fun. We made our way to the city mid afternoon and made it on line an hour and a half before doors opened. We snagged the quick pass line tickets so we got to enter before the general line. Best 15 extra bucks i ever spent tbh.
We got in and got such a great spot! Super close to the stage. Always thankful for that:) If you know me you know i thrive at concerts.
The openers were absolutely incredible. Towa Brid came on first. She was electric, shredded the guitar, and overall sang so super well. She actually did a press conference too that i usually go to also.
After Towa, Alexander23 came on and her was also incredible as well. He sang “Steal My Girl” which he KNEW the crowd was gonna eat up. It just always does:)
Both band mates of Towa and Alexander rocked the stage as well. From where my friends and I were standing we had a solid view of Towa’s drummer who was jamming out the whole time i loved it. and also Alexander’s keyboardist Petro. He was adorable and looked so happy on stage:’)
After they performed, it was almost go time for Reneé. There were about 30 minutes or so in between so the music track that were playing included bangers like “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift and “Satellite” by my man’s Harry Styles hehe.
9:30pm rolled around and LIGHTS OUT! Her band came on soon followed by sweet music and then RENEÉ woohooo. She looked stunning as always and matched her voice for sure.
She started off with “Talk Too Much”. When you hear that song not only just on Spotify or recording in general, but when you hear it in person you just wanna jump around and scream the lyrics to it too.
She then sang “Poison Poison”, “Willow”, and “Colorado”. “Willow” is so sweet because she said it was about her childhood and i love that so much.
After “Willow”, she recently added another song to her setlist!! Reneé and her band added “Bruises” as well. Which is one of my favorites too. Relatable idk and from that EP album all so good. 🙂 i jammed. i danced. i sang. i SCREAMED the lyrics bc yk the part in the chorus ah yeah everyone does.
“Pretty Girls” was next and I absolutely LOVEE this song. This song had everyone jumping and screaming like no other. It’s just one of those songs you can’t NOT at least bop your head too. We were all jumping and loving everyone minute of it.
Then she sang “23” and “Tummy Hurts”. It’s so fun to hear songs about a certain age. Because years later you can look back and be like ‘oh yeah’ that’s what it was like. Songwriting is so cool because of reasons like that.
After those songs she sand “I Hate Boston”. This is one of my FAVORITES. Like seriously from her vocals to the melodies of this song. From one of my favorites recorded to one of my favorite live. I seriously got the chills i love her. It’s like such a head banger, especially getting into the last chorus like YASS.
“So What Now” came soon after. This is another one of those super sing alongable songs. Agh all bangers and no skips.
“Tattoos” came next and this is one of my favorites as well. This is the song that’s always stuck in my head. And i cannot fathom to you how WELL Reneé sings live. Whether she has to stop a song for an external problem and resume, whether she’s out of breathe, or if she just has these intense songs back to back she always delivers. Definitely one of the best i’ve heard live.
“Too Well” she says she doesn’t like but like she also said she ALWAYS makes it fun. Her band introduced this song and it was so sweet they’re all so funny.
Next came “Gemini Moon“. This is another song i never skip. Like all of them are so good obviously to me haha but this one you just wanna always sing along to too. I often have this one in my head too. And she’s so real my sister was telling me in an interview she said she’s not even a Gemini Moon. She’s so relatable i love her.
“The Wedding Song” was after “Gemini Moon” and this is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES as well! It’s so good and i love screaming these lyrics. OoH i just had chills writing that too. When she gets to the last bridge and chorus it’s like all out amazing vocals and the runs she does. LIKE YES. i cant get enough of her. Like can Reneé sing to me everyday haha. tbh not kidding lmaoao just absolutely INCREDIBLEEE
The last three songs hit hard. So emotional she really loves what she does and you can tell.
“I Wish” was next. Reneé brought out Alexander23 and her brother Charles who I also got to talk too on set. He’s a super cool dude. super sweet. This song always gets ya in the feels. So sweet and pure and sad. Like so good. And her vocals add to the emotional range of the song. Like you just wanna cry. ya know. So good.
“In The Kitchen” was the last song before the chorus and… ugh… i love this one so much. You can tell she does too, the night or so before she got super emotional to this song. Which i love because you can tell how much this song means to Reneê. Makes me sad she felt that way too ya know. It’s one of my favorites. One of my first from this album too, so good yk. Always stuck in my head and singing too. NO COMPLAINTS about that though of course:’)
I cant believe how fast this set actually went. This show just sm felt like it started, that’s what happens when you’re having such a great time 🙂
Reneé came back on for the encore which was “Snow Angel”. AbsoLUTE BANGER. So good and pure and raw with how this song effected her. She wrote this song and knew it was the one to release first from this album. So proud of her for that. She wrote this song while on set too so it’s cool to know that after the long days of working she wrote this song. But also sad to know she was sad yk. I loved talking with her and got to know how nice she is. So i feel that. She got so into it and oh boy SO DID I. i love jamming with Reneè ❤ she is so sweet. and caring. and i love that soo much. makes me feel happy :’)
wow. just like that, the show was over. BUT NOT QUITE YET.
before the show ended, since it was the last one with her openers on tour. and the last show in north america, she has a very special announcement, just for us:) HER DELUXE ALBUM IS COMING OUT NOVEMBER 17th PEOPLE AHH!! seriously was not expecting that. So pumped and happy for new songs. I was happy with what i got but the fact we get more AH YAYYAYAY.! 🤩🥰 So proud of her for working so hard. Along with her team and which Towa and Alexander came out and hugged her for a long time. It was so sweet and sad it was their last show i wanted to cry. Such a great announcement, such a great tour. So excited for new music though you have no idea. Like a DELUXE ALBUM YALL like yesss. hehe
I am seriously so happy for her and her accomplishments for real. And her team is amazing too of course. I never imagined how much i love her. One of my top favorites without a doubt. I am so grateful to have had conversations with her, she has held my phone and seen my Harry lock screen before which we bonded about him and I will cherish that conversation forever haha. I remember helping her remember lyrics to one of his songs too. And i am so excited to see her again one day and would love to talk to her again. So thankful and blessed. sorry for the rant i just have that passion yk hahaha.
All in all, such a great show. I am so thankful I attended with my friends who i met through her and i will never forget it. She’s amazing, her songs, her team, and if y’all wanna hire me lmk pls 😜💛. Thank you so much for reading along and I will see you next time, until next time fam, peace!
