Hey fam! Back at it again with another blog lmao. This past weekend my friends and I went to a 5 Seconds of Summer concert at MSG. We have been going to their shows together ever since they started touring on their own :’) day 1 fans if you will. This was such a great time.
Since we live in Jersey, we took the train into Penn Station which is convenient because it’s right next to MSG. We hungout a little bit in the city and made our way to the venue not too long after.
The line getting in was insane. They checked security inside after we walked into a stairwell. We got throigh security and headed straight to the merch lines which were maybe even longer lmao. We waited about 30 or so minutes to get our merch and of course the girl in front of us got the last of the shirts we wanted! but it’s okay we still got some haha. Also loved seeing the Harry banner in person. Seeing his name again made me happy too.
After we got our merch we headed to our seats which were pretty good in lower bowl. Since the merch line took some time the opening act was already on. I liked them because they sang some of my sister and I’d favorite songs from our childhood including “Since You Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson “Complicated” by Avril Lavigne, and “Burnin’ Up” by the Jonas Brothers which of course you know that we all know and love them :’) such true bops always. They were called Meet Me At The Alter.
After the opening act went on we were so ready for Ashton, Calum, Luke, and Michael to come on stage. A bit before they did, one of their little skits popped up on the screen and we went crazy from that. About safety, they had a skit about safety precautions, love that. Lmao after that LIGHTS OUT and the show was beginning.
The “show” curtains dropped in front of them and out they came singing “bad omens”. This was amazing my friends and I were ecstatic, it was happening, yay!
They always put on a great performance. I am always in my happy place when I am at concerts too y’all know that of course.
They sang 28 songs and let me tell you, every. single. one. went. HARD. Every song was a bop and made you want to go crazy lmao.
“Babylon” is sooo good live in my opinion. I love singing and dancing along to it for sure. “She’s Kinda Hot” is of course a classic bop and we all love the *clap clap clap claps* in the song too.
When they sang “Amnesia” it was really cute. They had a skit they put on before and was like “you’ve been diagnosed as a 5 Sauce fan” as then dressed like doctors and stuff. As they sang that song we all had our flashes on and waving to the beats. After that, there was a dad behind us with two teenage looking girls and he goes “that was a really nice performance, they did a really great job” something to that effect and it was so cute and wholesome. I absolutely love things like that 🥹
“Waste The Night” is probably one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES. It’s just so good, all of our hands going forwards and backwards to the beat in sync it’s crazy feels weird but awesome lmao. It’s a great message, like let’s not “waste the night”. Let’s live it to the fullest and try to live our best lives (aye that rhymed i should be a songwriter too lmao) which is perfect for a concert to live by that too if you can. Living in the Moment, that’s my motto and tattoo’d on me. My friend and I made a pact to even try and not too many videos to live in the moment, i think we did a good job. 🙂
“Don’t Stop” is another classic jam. I really enjoy jamming out to that song live with everyone else too.
They have a part of the concert where there are surprise or special songs on a dice. It is big, red, and inflatable. They throw it into the crowded and have to make it back on the stage in about a minute. It was stuck in one spot, must’ve felt amazing to be those fans. When it got back on stage it landed on “Voodoo Doll”! Such a classic bop. I was really excited for it. My favorite that would’ve been cool too was “Heartache On The Big Screen” i love that song so very much. But I was still very pleased with the outcome.
“Disconnected”, “Who Do You Love”, “She Looks So Perfect” also went hard. I MEAN THEY ALL DO. It’s hard not to keep writing and writing bc i can all day long about how great all their songs are. So much can fun. Seriously.
“Best Friends” was honestly one of my favorites of the night as well. Everyone went crazy because there was also a “Best Friends Cam” and we got to see all friends dancing together. So naturally my friends and i were jumping up and down having a great time as well, such a cute song i loved it, so much fun, as always.
They closed out with “Outer Space” and “Youngblood”. Always love those songs too. I cant believe it was over after this. They hadn’t been to MSG since they were kids they said and had the memories there but now appreciate them there even more than before. We always saw them at PNC Bank Arts Center. Which is definitely missed seeing them there, but so proud of them for what they have accomplished for real! :’) ❤
after that we zoomed to the train station to catch our train and reflected back. It was awesome.
This was another amazing tour by them and their team and everyone else who was there. My sister, friends, and I always have a great time attending a 5SOS concert. Hope you enjoyed too, and i loved the “getting sauced” confetti too, red and yellow confetti they blasted at us. So fun. so memorable. Confetti happened a few times and i always get chills with things like that. Being at a concert is indescribable fr. 🙂
5 Seconds of Summer will always be one of my all time favorites. And like they asked us in the crowd, yes even in another 10 years from now we would love to jam out with them again for sure.
