Hey all! I am back with another press conference experience blog. This time it was with renforshort. renforshort is an Interscope alt/pop artist who is 20 years old and based from Toronto. She recently released her album dear amelia. Her music relates to mental health and her journeys along with her honest thoughts into her music.

Let’s get into the questions some of the outlets asked and her answers!

Sam from the Antidote Live asked her, “What are you most looking forward to in terms of doing a headlining tour and how do you anticipate this will differ from opening for other artists on their tours?” Ren says she thinks about this a lot! She mentioned she has headlined once in her life and it was the best thing ever. She didn’t even sleep that night and had so many endorphins! She then explained how she was really excited to plan out the tour like lighting and pace, being able to speak more, and interact with the audience more and knowing that each individual coming to the show is coming to see her and gives her a sense of security. That is such a big accomplishment I would say!

Laney from Music, Musings, and Me asked, “How do you choose your collaborators?” Ren agreed herself that this was a very good questions. She likes to have some sort of relationship with them and it is easier to work with friends. “The main criteria for me is how well I gets along with a person and how easy it is to open up to this person.” That is what helps her pick who she is going to work with. “I love trying to work with new people because the more people you work with, the more variety you can get, in a way.” You feel very comfortable once you find those people, she also said. She has that with people like Alexander and Jeff.

Carson from Unpublished asked Ren, “What inspired the letters to amelia campaign that you are currently running and what is happening with the letters that are written to amelia?” This was also a good question. Every song is basically addressed to amelia in a letter. From writing it, to putting it in a mailbox, and getting everything off your chest. She explained it as one step closer to being able to talk about your feelings.

All in all this was a great press conference. Ren is really successful and her career is only beginning! I would recommend giving her album a listen. Also, she just announced her tour as well!

Hope you enjoyed and thank you for reading along with me!
