Hi all! Back at it again with another 1824 press conference. This time around this press conference featured Amila Moore! Amelia is 20 years old and from Georgia. At such a young age, she has accomplished so much! She is all about total emotional transparency within her personality and music. She is a successful singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who describes her work as “homeschool to Hollywood” because as a child growing up she was homeschooled. She has been covered by Billboard, PAPER, Earmilk, etc. She has also been tapped by Ones To Watch as one of The Top 25 Artists to watch in 2022. Her debut teaching a robot to love is set to release on June 3rd, woohoo!
So here it goes, the first question for Amelia. This outlet mentioned the new songwriting trend where women are opening up about bad relationships. They asked if this was a form of storytelling and healing for her and what she hopes listeners take from it. Amelia explained how writing this whole project was super healing especially because it was during a break up with a toxic man. She explained that songwriting is a form of therapy for her. Amelia said she is so excited to release her work because she feels so connected to this music. This also makes it a lot easier for listeners to connect with. She does not shy away and is relatable and truthful.
She seems to have a cool and spunky personality which I could imagine makes her stage presence even more fun as she gets to keep performing live! She is definitely a cool artist!
Jake from The come up blog asked, if Amelia played instruments and the importance of live music to her. Amelia talked about how she played the violin at 4 years old until she was 7 years old. It was her first instrument she had ever played. Because of how young she started playing instruments, she said this gave her a good ear and she is very good at hearing things in her head. Also Amelia said she did not realize it at the time because she was so young, but playing the violin really restricted her, creatively wise. She explained this was because she was taught how to play the music and learn the music the way the Composer of the song played their music. There was certain music and ways to play with professionally learning the violin. Since she felt trapped because of this, she quit and then learned the piano. To Amelia, the piano felt like freedom. She watched and learned from YouTube videos, which is the best way to learn things on your own and for free, isn’t it?!?!?. Amelia said she stills plays, which is great! She has been getting into using more live instruments in her newer music. Amelia said she is so excited to continue experimenting with live instruments in the future. There is something that brings elements back into music with live music. She says for example like on the piano or acoustic guitar, etc., those instruments and sounds are classic and around forever. She said she is looking forward to stripping it back and using more live instruments in the future!

The next question for her was, “During Fletcher’s tour, what was your favorite moment?” This was a sweet answer she had. Amelia was stumped by this question and said it was tough question. She thought about and said that there were so many, but in particular there was a really special moment special in san diego. It was her third or fourth show ever live and when she was singing “Sweet and Sour”, one girl in the front row knew ALL of the words. “I knew barely anybody was going to know who I was, that’s why I went on tour with Fletcher.” After every show, Amelia said she would give the first fan who came up to her a Spotify gift card. So, for this girl who was singing and all of the words to her one song, Amelia said she knew she had to give it to her! So, after the show, she grabbed the gift card and they hugged. Amelia explained how cute this moment was. Her name was Kaitlin and was also homeschooled! That is so sweet they probably related in so many ways. :’) It was definitely a core memory just everyone said as well, including Amelia.
Hannah from Riot Rage Magazine asked, “How do you feel your writing has changed since you first started writing, along with yourself?” Amelia responded by saying she is now comfortable writing alone. It has become more enjoyable to her than scary. She used to be scared and writing alone used to be intimidating at first. She enjoyed getting to bounce ideas off of each other with other people and another person. Amelia states to all of us in the press conference to “trust your instincts when you’re alone.” That is smart and I will definitely be taking that advice. Amelia says she has also grown as an artists a lot since her release of “Sweet and Sour” in October. She has had a lot of change with makeup and fashion especially. She has more fun with experimenting with her style. There is more inspiration for her which is awesome.
Overall, this press conference was enjoyable. Amelia Moore has a bright and vibrant personality which makes you like this artist even more. We love a personable and relatable artist. Her music is great and I recommend checking it out as her debut EP teaching a robot to love is set to release on June 3rd!
Until next time fam!
Peace!
– Andie 🙂
