Hi all! I am excited to share with you an interview I did with Brady James! Brady James is a Capitol Records artist living out his dreams. With success, comes hardships as well. His newest music video that goes along with his single, “CASH CLEARS”, recently released on November 19, 2021 and captivates his real life personal struggles while on his way to achieving his dreams.
“CASH CLEARS” is really all about becoming an adult, adulting, and managing personal relationships and finances in the real world. As a 22 year old, this is more than relatable. I can understand the personal struggles that come with growing up. But with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible with dedication as well!
Here are the questions I asked Brady and his responses to them:)
1. What inspires you most for the style of your music videos? I loved the “CASH CLEARS” music video!
“Well Thank you! Haha that means a lot. I would say we try and make every video very differently. Basically whatever idea we can most clearly envision while just hearing the song is what we go for. Basically whatever the song calls for, and CASH CLEARS just needed a zany, wild almost out of no where visuals to compliment the track.”
2. As a 22 years old, this song really resonates with me. What is your best advice for navigating early adulthood and all of our new responsibilities?
“Oh man great question. I would say something that helped me is realizing nobody has this thing called life figured out. Everybodies struggling and “faking it till they make it” and its okay to not have it all figured out.”
3. In what ways do you relate to the lyrics, “Lately I’ve been feeling like a prop”, what does this mean to you?
“First off THANK YOU for asking this you are the first and its one of my favorite lines. A lot of people think I say “problem” so its nice to hear somebody get it haha. But yeah that line to me means a lot of different things, but when I wrote it i was thinking about my life in the past year and how my career has changed this thing has really become my job. I guess you could say that I felt like a part on the machine in the system. People telling me where to go, what kinda songs to make, what kind of brand to build, what kinds of shows to say, what to say and what not to say, that kinda thing. But that line could mean something else to me depending on the day. I think we all go through life feeling like people just want something from you or everyone shoves their own ideas and opinions down your throat.”

4. What is one artist you would love to collab with?
“Hands down Jon Bellion”
5. What is your most personal song and why?
“Theres actually a few unreleased songs that I have that I would consider my most personal, but outside of those I would say an older song called “Because of You” that goes in depth on my mental health struggles over the years.”

6. Where do you see yourself as an artist in a few years?
“I want to be a reputable song writer, I wanna write songs for other artists, and have a solid fan base that really gets me and understands who I am as an artist and person.”
