Hey all! Excited to share that I attended yet another Universal Music Group 1824 press conference! Today, Capitol artist, 3Breezy joined us to talk about his musical journey and about his music itself.
3Breezy was born and raised right here in New Jersey! That’s dope. You may know him from his hit single “Message to Her” in 2020. Along with his newest Summer single “Love Hurts”. 3Breezy has an amazing baritone in which he is known for along with his twist with R&B vocals. He is an honest man that talks truth about his life and how it is. He is empathetic and grew up in a household of women and understands feelings with relationships, etc.
He has a new single coming out this Friday, October 8th called “Self Love”. We got a sneak peak hearing of his newest track and boy let me tell you, it is great! His newest track is about self love, just like a lot of his songs represent too. He wants the whole release to be about spreading self love because that is the most important love and it comes from within, very close and personal! 🙂
The press conference had some outstanding questions. Here are a few that stood out to me the most. The first question was from When We Make It To LA. They asked 3Breezy, “What was it like when you first were releasing his music?” He said it was crazy adjustment. He learned everything himself. 3Breezy recorded his own self-made music on garageband and then would release it the next day. A lot of things go into recording professionally with a label. Recording with a label was definitely out of his comfort zone at first and took time to adjust. Although, he did say that it just gets better and better. He explained how recording professionally is helping his sound in the long run, that’s great!
When We Make It To LA then asked 3Breezy to describe his music in three words. “Uplifting, motivational, and encouraging.” He tries to be as relatable as he can and tries and help people cope. I really enjoy this answer and love his vibes. That really is the best way to portray your music in my opinion. Positivity with real emotions.
The next brilliant question came from Silk Magazine. They asked 3Breezy, “Who do you hope to collab with?” He responded by explaining how right now, he would love to collaborate with Yung bleu and Toosii. He loves Yung Bleus’ stories and sounds. He also loves Toosii’s sounds and music.
The outlet Rarepiece was also in this press conference and asked 3Breezy about his music. They mentioned he writes a lot about relationships, especially past emotionally abusive relationships, etc. They asked him how it is in the Hip Hop scene. He responded by explaining to us that he wants to be remembered as a positive artist. He wants his legacy to live on and not to be remembered for what others are remembered for such as drugs etc, I love this and once again I love his vibes!!!
Rarepiece also asked him where his name, 3Breezy, came from. He says “Alright, I will be real with you all” and that was when I knew I was going to enjoy this answer lmao! He says his favorite number is 3, makes sense. Also, Breezy just sounds cool. Before he went by another name but it wasn’t it. He just picked his name based on how cool it sounds. I like the realness and normalcy of where his name came from!
4GOTTin Magazine asked, “What kind of genre inspired your sound?” He was inspired by R&B and storytelling. He loves listening to Usher and his harmonies along with his amazing vocals. 3Breezy is inspired to aim for music that comes from the soul, that is his main inspiration. Not rap, he loves passion.
They also asked, “what advantages do you have as a result of your versatility with vocals and bars?” 3Breezy feels like as an artist, it is important to be versatile. It brings a broader fan base so more people listen to your music. Having both gives the opportunity for a larger audience. All in one is great.
He wants to grow more as a musician by getting better with his vocals. He wants to hit certain notes and get there with his vocals. He is on the way to do so and WILL get there!
“How did growing up In NJ affect your growth in the music industry?” He found that not everyone supported him there. Everyone wants to be a rapper in the area where he grew up. Getting out of NJ is what really helped him. Growing up in New Jersey impacted him and helped motivate him to start his career and go somewhere with his music and goals.
Someone asked 3Breezy how he switched from wanting to be a vet to musician. He loved animals and became a vet tech assistant while in college. Once Covid hit, pretty much all the animal hospitals had to close. He went to college for two years until he really got into his music during the pandemic. 3Breezy explained how there was really nothing to do so he would write and make songs on his phone. I love how easy it was to do the things he loved! Once he started to that, it became a habit. That means anyone can go on with their dreams, even from your phone!
He definitely still loves animals and would love to one day maybe open a dog daycare of his own! How sweet! He says he would call it ‘3breezy Doggie Daycare’, ha, love that! He surely does want to incorporate his love of past vet passions into his musical career, he loves animals! Some other animal topic questions were also asked like, “Are you more of dog person or cat person?” 3Breezy is definitely more of a dog person and only likes certain cats too. He loves and is really into having clingy pets like dogs. He has a maltipoo named Snowball who apparently isn’t as clingy as he would like, aww! But he says “it’s whatever”, ha! He also says the scariest animal is an ostrich because it is such a big bird that can run 50mph, terrifying!
Another press conference attendee asked him what his inspiration was behind his newest song, “Self Love”. He responds by saying “I see a lot of stuff on the internet that depends on ppl to feel bad for you.” He further explained by saying how he used to depend on his ex to feel love. It sure did take awhile to realize he doesn’t need to be dependent on someone for your own happiness and to be happy with life in general. He would even call out of work for her to see her and says that was definitely ‘not it’. After the relationship ended, he really started to work on himself. He started to love himself even more and the person he is and that was his main inspiration for writing his newest song, “Self Love”. I really do love and appreciate how honest he is with his words and his music here. He says “The feeling when you realize you do not need anyone but ourselves, you start to look at life different.” Very inspiring. I like how in depth and raw he reaches within his emotions.
All in all, 3Breezy seems like a real genuine guy that knows how to portray his emotions through music. There were a lot of great questions that he gave and all were amazing detailed answers. I truly did learn a lot more about him. I think he is a real nice guy and deserves all of his success! You should check out his single “Self Love” that comes out Friday, October 8th! I genuinely enjoyed listening to the message and the song as a whole! It will make you feel good and uplifted!
