Heyy! So I am back with an exciting new post, woohoo! This past weekend I went to the always amazing JingleBall concert. I wrote about this last year as well so I was very excited about this year and the amazing line up.
So let’s start off by talking about the All Access Lounge at Pier 36, NYC, which was a free event sponspored by Poland Spring which was great because they were giving out free waters and I love hydration yanno? 😂 So my sister Katie and I get there around 11 am when it started. We had to wait in the cold for maybe 20-30 minutes so wasn’t TOO bad. The Access Lounge was from 11am-5pm and the actual concert was from 7pm-12am about. Which was like a 11-12 hour concert day in full which was awesome! I very much enjoyed a full day of awesome music like that as you may know!
As we rolled up in our Uber the people in line definitely thought we were famous or something because the traffic guy were actually directing us to the parking lot for press and talent which hey, I was VERY okay with that. One day we will actually be going that way on purpose, speaking into existence.
So it was our time to walk into the building. Many people but not so overwhelming yet. We walking in and are greeted with a pair of Macy’s sponsored Reindeer ears, which were cute and all but those did not last long. 😂 After we walk in we walk around a bit to different vendors, get our picture taken a couple of times and grab some free stuff such as a hat and scrunchies which were cool. We also were going around entering our chances to win a meet & greet with one of the artists perfoming. I was SOOOO excited to meet Louis Tomlinson of course becasue I LOVE One Direction, but did not get the opportunity to meet him, one day though!! I was also excited to see Lauv perfom in the All Access Lounge because I really enjoy his music, meeting him would have been a blast as well.
After walking around the different vendors, we make our way towards the stage to get ready for the perfomances. The first perfomer we got to see was Lennon Stella, not so familiar with her music but she was good! In between each perfomance they would give away free stuff and tickets to the crowd which passed time. They also had a DJ that played bops like Shawn Mendes and Harry Styles, ah yes! As time went on, more and more people showed up towrds the stage and the closer Katie and I got to the front! It was awesome (besides not being able to move at ALL with everyone squished together like sardines) but hey that’s just part of the experience I guess, right?
After her perfomance, Why Don’t We came on, which they do have bops I like their music. Shortly after Elle Winter came on and I could not believe that she is legit the same age as my sister and I, so cool! (1999 kiddos aye) She was a really good perfomer as well. After her we got to see AJ Mitchell perfom, I liked him too.
As well as the previously mentioned artists, Spencer Sutherland came on stage and let me tell you…… AMAZING. I was aware of him and his music especially his bop “Sweater”, but never took the time to listen to a ot of his songs and albums. He was one of my favorites at the All Access Lounge, I would say top three at least. Such a good voice and person. I am definitley a new fan of his, I liked him. Shortly after him Quinn XCII came on and I best know him for his song with MAX called “Love Me Less”, straight up bop. He was a really good singer as well too, he reminded me a little bit of Zane from the vlog squad on YouTube, iykyk.
Another favorite that I got to see perform SUPER CLOSE was Lauv. I know him from many songs with artists such as “i’m so tired..” with Troye Sivan because I’ve liked Troye since like 2014! Lauv had an amazing stage presence and I honestly really enjoyed his singing and performing. One of my favorites at the lounge for sure.
So after Lauv, it was almost time for the last perfomance…. my FAVORITE and what I was most excited for because I have not been that close to Louis like EVER, I was pumped. As the time came closer, about 4:05, the crowd became insane! I was probably third row back behind the front people against the barricade, which was awesome and unreal. I could basically touch him, Louis was like five feet (give or take) in front of me, so cool! 😆 I was pushed so much against people becasue everyone wanted to be near the front of course, it was gross and people were on top of each other acting like animals but hey, I was super close so it was great. Katie got pushed a little bit behind me because noone cared, everyone was pushing everyone else for themselves.
So within the next couple of minutes, Louis gets introduced, music starts playing and then… LOUIS!! He came on stage and the crowd goes wild. Directioners all of the place it was great. He sang his songs such as “We made it” (which he made eye contact with me a couple of times with people around me too and it was great) along with “Just Hold On”, which I loved :’). I loved his songs. I really do love him and would like to go to one of his shows on tour this Summer! He is so sweet and genuine and I really love him music too.
After Louis’ great performance I tackled my way out of the crowd. Louis had a lot of fans there which made me happy :). But Katie and I managed our way out of the crowd and just like that, the Access Lounge was pretty much over they started packing everything up around 5. Next stop…. JINGLE BALL! In my next post I will talk about the main show which was at 7 pm.
