Starting Off With Shawn Mendes

Hi there! So my name is Andie and this is my first post. I am not really sure how this works but I’m here to give it a shot. To be completely honest I didn’t know what to make as my first post, so I figured I would start with my all time favorite singer, Shawn Mendes and talk about my experiences seeing him live in concert, which has been four times but right now we will focus on the best experience….. when I met him 🙂 aka The best day of my life. After this post I’ll start to post about my most recent concerts and such.

So basically this concert happened in August of 2016 when i was 17 years old (and Shawn had legit just turned 18). This was like my fifth concert ever, the ones before being two Fifth Harmony concerts, another Shawn Mendes concert, along with Troye Sivan. I was super eager to go to this concert but not just for any reason….. but because I was MEETING HIM. Yes, this means saying hello, hugging him, making eye contact, him talking to ME, the real deal, yes it was actually everything I dreamed of, like legit ask anyone.

The meet and greet happened hours before the concert so my friend that I brought with me and I had to be on-line by like 3 pm. I remember having gymnastics practice earlier that day so I was so excited to leave early too, especially during conditioning! I kept looking at the clock until it was time. The concert started at around 7 pm. So got there with plenty of time to spare and I remember being so anxious and nervous but in a good way. We got this awesome lanyard, wristbands, and a signed poster, but the best of what I got definitely was after I met him. I smelt like his cologne until I got home from the concert, yes this is true i have my sources to tell you that too 😂 it may sounds nuts but nah it was amazing.

So finally its meet and greet time!! As we were on-line we got to go through this “artist experience” and it was like a mini museum of his guitars clothes etc. , all very cool things. We inched up closer and closer and wow, I heard him through the curtains talking to other friends. I was sooooo eager and excited and nervous and ahhhh even now thinking back to it makes me so happy, for real one of the best days of my life!! Okay, so it’s my turn to meet him, I walk up give him a great big hug, he called me hun a few times, introduced myself and snapped some pics of us. He is seriously one of the most genuine artists you will ever meet, and that means a lot. Him calling me hun and giving me hugs a bunch of times really melted me. Yeah it was such a great time because after the meet and greet I got to look forward to his sound check which then he locked eyes with me like twice, and yes i have proof of that too because of pictures and where my friend and I were standing. It was really up close and personal. I know everyone says that, but I’m pretty serious about that one.

The sound check was great, I hugged my number one idol, and my hair and clothes smelt like his cologne, I was doing so well. 🙂 My friend and I then waited for the concert to begin. In the mean time we talked about our experience, met some friends and waited patiently for the show to start.

Show time!!!! It was finally that time and I was soooo excited. James TW was the opening act and he gave me chills, he is so talented and I soon became a fan and have listened to music by him too. So after him Shawn came on and let me tell you….. WOWZA, that boy can sing, so well and so comfortably.

I really did love every single minute of it. That was the only thing and moment I had in my mind from the time I found out I was meeting him until the time I saw him in concert again. (which m&g’s are soooo hard to get now I try to have like 4 windows open a few hours or so before the tickets go on sale but it is so hard) (but I’m also happy people who have never met him before get to meet him also, everyone deserves a chance to meet their idol 🙂 ) Also after the picture of us was taken and posted, legit most people I know said we looked like a couple and that he looked happy to hug me! Seriously the best compliment ever!

So that is an experience I will never forget. The day was one of the best days of my life! I will and am determined to hug him again I can’t wait. If you read all of this wow thank you, I’m new too this so can’t really tell if I rambled too much or not, but also it’s just my experiences with lots of thoughts. Catch ya next time fam!
